Personell hygiene.
- Proper attire is required for anyone entering the factory:
o Employees who have their daily work in the factory wear assigned work clothes, which are stored in closed cupboards
in the cloakroom, separated from private clothes.
o Visitors wear disposable outfits that are available at the entrance for visitors.
o Hearing protection is mandatory and earmuffs are kept clean according to cleaning plan.
- Jewelry, wristwatches and piercings are not allowed in the production room, except for wedding rings.
- Nails must be kept clean and cut short. Hand cleaning stations are available in warederobe, in all toalets and also on the production site (with main entrance to production, hall 3 and hall 5)
- Hand washing is mandatory:
o Before work begins.
o After breaks and toilet visits.
o After handling potentially contaminated material.
- Employees are encouraged to stay home in the event of illness, and must report to their immediate supervisor immediately in the event of illness or injury that occurs during work.
- Wounds should be covered with a suitable, colored patch.
- Food and beverages are stored in the canteen and must not be brought to the factory (this includes snuff). Water stations are available for drinking inside the factory in hall 2,3,6. Waer bottles need to ne stored on designated shelf in the entrece area to production site.
- Smoking is done outdoors in a designated area.
- Personal belongings must not be brought into the factory/ kitchen without permission from management.
- Good order must be maintained in the factory, canteen and wardrobes (incl. Cabinets).
Order and cleaning
- Good order is maintained by all loose objects having a fixed place where they should be stored when not in use.
- Each operator clears his own workstation after the end of the shift and during adjustment. It is also the operators' responsibility to clean their own workstation, according to cleaning plan.
- Work shoes and personal protective equipment are washed by the operator if necessary or according to cleaning plan.
Waste Disposal.
- Waste is collected in waste containers in the factory.
- Waste other than plastic is removed as soon as possible, and at the end of each shifts at latest, and disposed off in containers outside.
Pest Control.
- Bergen Plastics has a pest management agreement with Rentokil.
- If pests or insects are detected in large quantities inside the factory, Rentokil must be contacted. Employees who discover pests or signs of pests must notify management.
- Incoming materials with pests or traces of pests must not be taken into the factory, but placed outside pending assessment. Management must be notified.
- All employees must be aware of signs of pests and also notify management if any detectors are not working properly.
Control of brittle and breakable objects.
- Brittle and breakable materials and objects should be avoided at the factory as far as possible.
o Examples of fragile objects that must be avoided are cups and glasses.
- Brittle and breakable materials that cannot be removed are checked monthly.
- If cracks or breakages are discovered outside this inspection, the management must be notified immediately.
Quality.
- Every hour, products must be inspected visually and scored according to the traffic light system, quality check form must be filled out.
- Follow the deviation procedure if the product does not meet the specification and customers' expectations.
Traceability
- Tracking information for incoming raw materials is registered during reception.
- Relevant tracking information is recorded in the production log which is available in electronic format on the computer inside the production. The log is marked with the order number and date.
o The batch number or lot number must be entered in the log for all raw materials
- The final product is marked with the article number, production date and signature.
Handling Non-Conformances.
- Management must always be notified in the event of deviations.
- All deviations must be registered, even if they are corrected immediately.
- Deviations that occur during production are registered in the daily report.
Crisis preparedness and escalation.
- Management must always be notified immediately in the event of an emergency.
- Action cards must be available for the following emergencies and incidents:
o Fire and explosion.
o Burglary and theft.
o Internal crimes.
o Violence and threats of violence.
o Sabotage and vandalism.
o Fraud.
o Transport accidents.
o Breakage of supply systems: electricity, water.
o Product pollution and threats of pollution.
o Environmental pollution.
o IT attack.
o Unusual, unpredictable events.
